Subject: FWD Info on the Crisis in the Horn Dear Friend, Today in East Africa, in a region known as the Horn, more than 13.3 million people are in crisis – more than the populations of New York City and Los Angeles combined. The worst drought the world has seen in 60 years is devastating farmlands, uprooting families and killing tens of thousands. In an unprecedented public awareness and engagement effort, USAID launched the FWD Campaign—in partnership with the Ad Council—to highlight the uniquely devastating nature of this crisis and to ask people to help spread awareness. FWD—stands for Famine, War, Drought: the three major crises that have led to this perfect storm of devastation in the Horn of Africa. But it also stands for our call to action—that people be informed and forward what they learn so we can fight this crisis together. Text ‘Give’ to 777444 to donate $10. And do more than donate.
